Dear Music Lovers,

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII  ( I hope that makes up for all the 'hi's' I've missed).  I am soo sorry! I haven't poseted since November or something.  I was just really, really, really busy will school, softball and piano.  Anyways.....  here is something about a band called The Cave Singers.

Their new album, Naomi, is their fourth in five years and the second for label Jagjaguwar. They brought on Phil Ek—who has worked with Fleet Foxes, Built to Spill and the Shins among others—to produce. The result is a rich tone with a pronounced bottom-end. And while Naomi, with its bright guitars and upbeat melodies, is not as downtrodden as their previous, No Witch, the band is still concerned with the difficulties of living and loving in the modern world—even if those concerns are as mundane as owning a car.

Check out there song Canopy on pretty much amazing.  Go to reviews, click on their name, and listen.  It is really good. (sorry, I couldn't find it on the internet and I couldn't copy it from the website).

Until next time.... Music Pumpkin..... OUT!

Hey Music Lovers:

Happy Holidays!!!  Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I was on vacation and I couldn't access a computer!  Anyways....... guess what I did, I rode a skittle powered unicorn!!!  No... I found a new artist for you!  They are a band called Egyptian Hip Hop.  I found them on Pretty Much Amazing. Here is what it said about there music:

Egyptian Hip Hop are a fresh faced four piece indie rock band from London who have chosen a strange name for themselves. Whether you think it’s a good or bad title, it’s certainly a memorable one and their aqueous cover of Django Django’s “Love Darts” deserves your precious brain space as well. It has the cohesive, nostalgic feel of onetime tourmates Ariel Pink, with the occasional crispness of a good Nicolas Jaar groove.

Well, until next time.... Music Pumpkin.... OUT!

Hey Music Lovers:

Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while, I was on vacation and I couldn't get to a computer.  Anyways, I found a new website for you and a new artist.  The website is called songza.  Definitely check it out! When the page opens, you can choose what kind of music you want.  Whether it's Waking Up Happy or Relaxing at Night, you can have your pick, and it changes throughout the day.  Back to the artist. His name is Jamie Lidell; here is some info I found on wikipedia about him (it is a lot to read):

Jamie Lidell performing live at Metro, Chicago on October 27, 2006
Background information
Born18 September 1973 (age 39)

Lidell is known for layering tracks made with his voice into a microphone and performing the percussion and melody as a sequenced, beatboxing one-man band. Then over his augmented voices, he sings soul-inspired songs. This exercise makes for energetic live performances. Lidell has become renowned for his diverse range of genre-exploration. Following the release of his 2008 album, Jim, Lidell commented,[2]
I want it to be about music, I think every musician does. But I think inevitably it ends up becoming about personality, which is what gives rise to the music, so people want to make sure that they get a bit of both. The more things do well, the more people want to know why it does well.

Here is a song by him called:

Hey Music Lovers,

I found another band for you!  They are called GUARDS!  I found them on PRETTY MUCH AMAZING!  I was listening to there song COMING TRUE and I loved it! This is what it said on them on the website:

We first saw GUARDS at CMJ 2010, and since then they’ve released so many instant indie classic singles that we can scarcely believe they’re just now gearing up to release their first album, In Guards We Trust. “Coming True” is the record’s second single, and it’s fantastic, anthemic, and hyper-catchy, endlessly hooky, endlessly relistenable. You’ll be singing that soaring chorus – and whistling its accompanying string lines and guitar solos – for at least the rest of the year. The record is out February 5; you’ll have no problem putting “Coming True” on repeat in the meantime. Check the band out on tour this December, too.

Check out there song Coming True!

WIDOWSPEAK:

My dad had a coffee or lunch with a well-known music producer a few days ago.  (Budd Carr) They started talking about my blog and he recommended me to a site (below) called PRETTY MUCH AMAZING, so I had to check it out.  I went to the reviews and this is what it said about a band named Widowspeak:

Brooklyn’s Widowspeak are good at slow-burning, tenderly nostalgic psych-folk, complete with echo-y guitar that sounds like watching the sun set, warm, sweet, confessional vocals from frontwoman Molly Hamilton, and midway-through breaks into massive, simmering thunderstorm territory.  I had to listen to one of their songs.  I clicked on the play button and heard this amazing guitar strumming and then a girl started singing.  HER VOICE WAS AMAZING!  Below is the song I heard:

Widowspeak // "Ballad of the Golden Hour" (NEW SINGLE)

check it out,NOW!!!!

Until next time... Music Pumpkin, OUT!!
