Hey Music Lovers,
I found another band for you! They are called GUARDS! I found them on PRETTY MUCH AMAZING! I was listening to there song COMING TRUE and I loved it! This is what it said on them on the website:
We first saw GUARDS at CMJ 2010, and since then they’ve released so many instant indie classic singles that we can scarcely believe they’re just now gearing up to release their first album, In Guards We Trust. “Coming True” is the record’s second single, and it’s fantastic, anthemic, and hyper-catchy, endlessly hooky, endlessly relistenable. You’ll be singing that soaring chorus – and whistling its accompanying string lines and guitar solos – for at least the rest of the year. The record is out February 5; you’ll have no problem putting “Coming True” on repeat in the meantime. Check the band out on tour this December, too.
Check out there song Coming True!

WIDOWSPEAK:
My dad had a coffee or lunch with a well-known music producer a few days ago. (Budd Carr) They started talking about my blog and he recommended me to a site (below) called PRETTY MUCH AMAZING, so I had to check it out. I went to the reviews and this is what it said about a band named Widowspeak:

Brooklyn’s Widowspeak are good at slow-burning, tenderly nostalgic psych-folk, complete with echo-y guitar that sounds like watching the sun set, warm, sweet, confessional vocals from frontwoman Molly Hamilton, and midway-through breaks into massive, simmering thunderstorm territory. I had to listen to one of their songs. I clicked on the play button and heard this amazing guitar strumming and then a girl started singing. HER VOICE WAS AMAZING! Below is the song I heard:
Widowspeak // "Ballad of the Golden Hour" (NEW SINGLE)

Hey Music Lovers,
I found a new artist for you (thats really getting old, isn't it)! Her name is Amy Rose. NO not this one,:
the country singer!! Sadly, I couldn't find anything about her on the internet, so all I can do is tell you how I think she is. I found her on the cdbaby website below. I put in country and up she came. She has a strong voice and could really thrive in this "Country-Powered" world. I listened to her song "I just want you to know" and I was sold. SHE IS AMAZING!!!! As I said above, she has an EXTREMELY strong voice. Check her out! Go to CDbaby, scroll down to new releases, click country, and she should be the second or third artist. The album cover is of a girl with red hair on her stomach lying down on what looks to be grass.
Until next time, MUSIC PUMPKIN, OUT!!!

Hey music lovers,
I found another artist for you!!! Here name is Lianne La Havas, who was born was born in London, England to a Greek father and Jamaican mother. She was raised in Tooting and Streatham, spending the majority of her time with her grandparents following her parents' separation as a child. La Havas began singing at seven and cites her parents' diverse musical tastes as having the biggest influence on her music. Her mother played Jill Scott and Mary J. Blige, and her father, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, taught her the basics of guitar and piano. Lianne wrote her first song at the age of 11, but did not learn to play the guitar until she was 18 years old. Lianne attended Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College for Girls in Croydon, where she studied art A-level, and planned to take an art foundation course; however, she left college to pursue a career in music full-time.
I heard about her on the radio and found this information on Wikipedia. Hope you like her!!! Below is the wikipedia page on her:

Hey music lovers,
If you saw the documentary, "Searching for Sugarman" you have heard about Sixto Rodriguez. He was an extremely unknown singer before someone picked him up and gave him a record deal. He wrote songs about that time period, the 70's. People in South Africa loved him. You could go into a record store, and the records on the wall would be Elvis, The Beatles and Sixto Rodriguez. In other words, he was as famous as the top singers, but only in South Africa. He was pretty much unknown to other places. He had two records and was working on a new one when the record company let him go. In one of his songs, he says he lost his job three weeks before Christmas, not knowing he actually would lose his job three weeks before Christmas. It was a sad time for him. He gave up the idea of singing and would write songs only in solitude. He went to work in construction and forgot all about the life he used to live. He didn't reveal anything about himself for a while. People said he shot himself and others said he burned himself while he was still alive! He didn't know anything about this until about 20 years later. His daughter saw a website on the computer saying, "FIND THIS MAN" with a picture of her dad on the front of a milk carton. She called the editor and told him, first off, that this wasn't a prank call. She then declared to be Sixto Rodriguez's daughter. Which then solved all of the worlds problems. This is a great movie about hope, music, love, music, wishing to forget, and great music. You should definitely check the movie out. Below is the link to his official website.
